Houghton Township
Houghton Township was founded in 1843 as one of the earliest settlements in the Keweenaw Peninsula. As of the 2000 census, Houghton Township had 126 residents. The township is primarily a residential and resort community known for beautiful beaches and magnificent sunsets. Township offices are located in Eagle River.
